Wondering where to stay in Budapest

Budapest is an incredible city and it’s renowned for its variety, from cheap thrills to luxury experiences. It’s a city that genuinely caters to every budget type. The best thing about Budapest is that you can shape it into any style trip that you want. Whether you’re seeking a modern romantic stay or a cheap as chips weekend break.

Ive compiled a list of some lovely accommodation options for future visitors to The Pearl Of The Danube. Something for every budget type and style of travel.

Hotel Moments

Hotel Moments is a modern hotel located in the heart of the city. It’s located right beside the CatCafe, St Stephen’s Basilica and a stone’s throw away to a metro station. It is a super modern hotel with the most incredible features, including the open roof top and internal balconies, which are so typical and almost expected in the city. The hotel has a really minimalistic luxury feel and makes a great location for beautiful Instagram photos. The bedrooms are very sexy with incredible views and large windows (see below).

Kempinski Hotel Corvinus

Hotel Kempinski is one of the top five start hotels in the city and the location is LITERALLY EVERYTHING. If you are all about brands and names then this is the location for you. You can walk straight out the back door of The Kempinski Corvinus right onto the main shopping street. During the Chrismtas holidays it is particularly special, as you walk straight into the heart of the festive markets. It is next to a metro station and beside the famous home for Hungarian patisserie, Szamos. I personally found the hotel bedrooms a little dated, but the absolute star during Kempinski experience was the buffet breakfast served in ÉS Bisztró. Homemade jams and chocolate spreads, freshly baked local pastries and variety of both traditional and international hot dishes.

Elite Apartments

I thought it was really important to include a budget option for those lusting a trip to Budapest on the cheap, because lets be honest, its one of the main reasons people visit the city. Opting for a self catering apartment is the way to go if you are seeking a bargain. You could be looking at as little as €15 per night based on two people sharing one apartment. There are a range of self catering apartments across the city, but i wanted to mention my experience staying at Elite Apartments Budapest. There is a little extra work involved, as you have to collect your keys from the office(which is located in the same building) and sign all the relevant documents. This is the perfect option for anyone on a budget or possibly travelling in a large group.

Type: Budget / Apartments

Price based on 2 people for 2 nights: €65 (€32.50 per night)

  • Urban balcony
  • Fridge and kitchen facilities
  • Wifi
